Social Business Bites Newsletter is Back!

serendipity n. the faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident

Having decided today it was high time I got back to producing regular issues of this Social Business Bites newsletter – yes, it has been much too long since the last issue – I noticed that today is in fact the 5th annniversary of the first issue under the Social Business Bites banner and theme. I hope that’s a good omen.

My apologies to those who have missed the regular issues, and especially that one reader (you know who you are) who uses the topics in SBB for dinner party conversation starters.

The only excuse I have for the hiatus is that I’ve been quite immersed in building a new online business, alongside my business coaching. In the process I have realised on a daily basis how quickly the world of digital business changes, especially when it comes to social media platforms, and their rules and algorithms.

So I feel there is some value in my rebooting this newsletter – and if for no one else, it helps me keep up! 🙂

LinkedIn is coming into more favor among ad buyers, who say they are shifting budget there away from other digital platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
The company is also working on lookalike audiences, according to sources, which would help advertisers target users who may be potential customers because they’re similar to the company’s existing customers. It’s one of the key features of Facebook’s ad platform
