Social Media Club BrisbaneI’m looking forward to the first meeting for the year of Social Media Club Brisbane, especially as it will feature an “inside story” briefing on Tourism Queensland’s hugely successful Best Job in the World campaign, promoting the islands of the Great Barrier Reef.

Our special guest speakers for the evening event will be Chris Chambers, Director of Digital Marketing at Tourism Queensland (TQ) and his colleague Sarah Whyte, Marketing Manager, Digital at TQ.

Widely considered as the most successful tourism campaign in the world, the campaign for the islands of the Great Barrier Reef catapulted global tourism marketing into a whole new realm. It has already spawned a host of copycat campaigns and netted several national and international awards including 8 awards in the prestigious Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

Social Media Club events are designed to share the latest information and ideas on social media: SMC motto is “If you get it, share it”. Social Media Club Brisbane (SMCB) is one of 95 active local chapters worldwide and was the first SMC established in Australia.
